As the Director of Engineering for the Platform Team at Bitso, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our engineering efforts. Who You Are
- Proven English fluency.
- At least 8 years of experience in engineering management, with a strong track record in technical project management and team leadership.
- Extensive experience with cloud technologies and modern human-computer interfaces.
- Proven ability in infrastructure and CICD development.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and a strategic mindset.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience in managing multiple teams and managers, or has a significant scope of impact across engineering departments.
- Capability to ensure technical designs are properly evaluated and integrated into the broader engineering efforts.
What You Will Do
- Provide technical leadership across engineering and development areas, particularly in cloud services, container orchestration, and various programming languages.
- Contribute to and execute a platform engineering strategy aligned with Bitso's vision and business goals, emphasizing innovation and efficiency.
- Manage, mentor, and expand a team of skilled engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate and optimize infrastructure and development tools.
- Ensure compliance with security regulations and best practices, maintaining robust and secure systems.
- Manage software development projects, setting clear requirements, goals, and timelines, and ensuring successful delivery.
- Prepare and manage the platform teams’s budget, aligning resources with strategic objectives.
- Plan the growth of the platform engineering organization and scale its operations effectively.
- Work with managers to define their team’s goals and measure success.
Your Team
You will be leading a team comprised of three Engineering Managers and one Individual Contributor (IC), overseeing a total of 30 indirect reports.
